125th National Fairbanks Reunion

The Fairbanks Family in America invites you to gather once again at our ancestral home for the 125th National Fairbanks Reunion. This year’s gathering is especially meaningful as we celebrate our shared heritage while also marking the approaching America 250 commemoration. There is no better place to reflect on our common story than at the Fairbanks House, where eight generations of the Fairbanks family lived beginning in 1637.

Whether you are a long-time member or joining us for the first time, the reunion offers a unique opportunity to reconnect with cousins, welcome new members of the family, and experience the history of Dedham and the Fairbanks House together.

With Boston and its surrounding towns at the heart of Revolutionary history, Reunion attendees have a unique opportunity to turn their National Fairbanks Reunion visit into a memorable New England heritage vacation.

Just a short drive from Dedham, visitors can explore the places where the story of the American Revolution began.

Freedom Trail: Walk Through Revolutionary Boston

Follow Boston’s famous 2.5-mile Freedom Trail connecting sixteen historic sites including the Paul Revere House, Old North Church, Faneuil Hall, and the Bunker Hill Monument. Many sites will feature special exhibits and programming tied to the America 250 commemoration.

Only about thirty miles from Dedham, these towns mark the locations of the first battles of the American Revolution in April 1775. Visitors can explore Lexington Green, the Old North Bridge in Concord, and Minute Man National Historical Park.

Boston Harbor and Historic Waterfront

Enjoy harbor cruises, whale-watching excursions, or visits to Boston’s historic waterfront museums and ships. Sail Boston Tall ships will be docked at the waterfront for public boarding the week after our Reunion.

Historic Dedham
While attending the reunion, take time to explore the historic center of Dedham including the Dedham Museum and Archives, Old Village Cemetery, and the many early American landmarks that help convey the town’s Revolutionary story.

Make It a Family Heritage Vacation

July is one of the best times to visit New England. Many reunion attendees extend their stay to explore nearby destinations such as Plymouth, Salem, Cape Cod, and Newport. We encourage Fairbanks cousins traveling from across the country to plan a few extra days in the region to experience, in-person the places where revolutionary history, and our family story, began.
